How to Convert MKV to WTV format for Windows Media Center

Most people have the need to convert recorded live television in wtv format to other video type, such as mov, mkv, avi, mp4, etc. However, if we try to manage media using Windows Media Center, sometimes, we have to transcode other format videos to wtv for playing or streaming videos to television set or certain media devices, such as Xbox 360. I googled and found a few converters that have been upgraded to support conversion to wtv, such as Bigasoft WTV Converter version 4.2. Here I'll show you the steps I tried to convert MKV to WTV.
1, Download and install WTV Converter. The software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7/8.
2, Launch the Converter and add the MKV video which I want to add to Windows Media Center. Click Add File button or just drag and drop the MKV into the main interface of Bigasoft WTV Converter. Then the video will be listed and you can set other settings before the conversion.
3, Select WTV Windows Media Center Video(*.wtv) profile. Also, video size, bitrate, framerate and other parameters are available on Advanced Profile settings panel.
4, After all settings done, click Convert button to start the conversion to WTV.

A few minutes later, you will be able to enjoy and stream converted WTV videos to your Windows Media Center. Besides converting MOV, MKV, AVI, MP4 or other video formats to WTV, this WTV Converter also can help you convert WTV videos to other file type(MKV, AVI. MOV, MP4) for playback on media players or portable devices, such as iTunes, QuickTime player, iPad, iPhone, Android phone or tablet.
